On Friday 28 November at 6pm the official launch of my book, Tolkien, Race and Cultural History: From Fairies to Hobbits, took place at the Centre for Lifelong Learning, Cardiff University. Dr Juliette Wood introduced me and I then had the opportunity to talk briefly about my book, my research questions, and the need for a serious re-evaluation of “genre” fiction, including fantasy. A cheese and wine 
reception followed, and the attendees had a chance to flick through the book and get my signature (not as elegant or as valuable as Tolkien’s, but I did my best!)
